WEGHATA TAPES VOL .1

I really appreciate Sideshow's unconventional approach to abstract hip hop. While the standout feature of this understated mixtape is the diverse production, ranging from soulful vocal samples to dark and lo-fi beats, Sideshow himself also impresses with his solid lyricism and casual delivery. Tracks like "775 ChEBI" showcase his talent well, blending beautiful instrumentals with a catchy flow. There is also a dynamic between trap and soulful hip hop beats it seems to constantly flip through, though sometimes seeming unable to find a main theme for the album. Although there is a lack of consistency in the production of the album, each different style of music that Sideshow creates fulfills its exact purpose, while also sounding pretty good. Though the project feels short and some tracks seem unfinished, it still stands as a promising work that could benefit from further development.
