American Dream

Listening to 21 Savage's latest album, I initially thought it was going to be a more introspective and conscious journey, especially with the title and intro setting that tone. While tracks like "All of Me," "Letter to My Brudda," "See the Real," and "Dark Days" resonated deeply, I wished there were more moments like these that delved into his past and its consequences. For those seeking the classic trap sound, standout tracks like "Redrum," "Sneaky," and "Red Sky" hit the mark perfectly, although "Pop Out" missed the mark due to a heavily censored Young Thug verse. While the R&B-infused cuts didn't quite hit home for me, I did appreciate the Burna Boy and Brent Faiyaz features, yet the songs as a whole felt a bit disjointed. The absence of Baby Drill or Young Nudy was disappointing, especially with yet another Lil Durk feature, Though, the collaboration with Travis Scott showcased one of 21's best performances on the album. Overall, it's a solid effort from 21 Savage, offering a more intriguing experience than "Savage Mode 2," though its superiority remains to be seen over time.
